Description

Teach Science and Self-esteem in this fun social-emotional learning game relating the butterfly metamorphosis process to how students can transform their self-esteem. Practice recognizing negative thinking, using positive self-talk, knowing their strengths, capabilities, and uniqueness. Great for small group counseling or class lessons. Includes a digital version for use with Google Slides for digital learning.

 

This activity takes about 30 minutes to complete with a small or large group. The goal is for students to practice and review skills that increase self-esteem. The game lightly touches on the metamorphosis process from caterpillar to butterfly, but is largely self-esteem focused.

  • Activity description including instructions/walk-through of activity, objectives, materials, guiding questions, ASCA standards, and SEL competencies.
  • 4 pages of Game Board (just print and glue together)

▶️What mode should I use this in google slides?

This product is meant to be used in edit mode (not presentation mode). Edit mode is the only mode that allows drag & drop and writing in text boxes.

 

▶️How many players in the game?

The board game (pdf) version is meant for a small group of kids (about six).

The digital game (google) version is for one student to play online. The student goes through the game board answering self-esteem related questions as they go. The teacher assigns each student their own copy to play.
